A traditional bomb shot made with Red Bull, Crown Royal, and a few other ingredients, the Vegas Bomb shooter will put you in a mood to party as if you were already in Las Vegas.
Making Skittles vodka takes a bit of time, but is worth the effort when it’s done. There are a few steps to the process: gathering the materials, sorting the candy and letting it dissolve, and the laborious part: straining the candy out of the vodka. The good news is that if you’re willing to invest a few hours, you’ll end up with five bottles of Skittles infused vodka to drink as you see fit.
May 11th marks the anniversary of the death of music legend Bob Marley.We figured we’d make the Bob Marley Shot in his honor. No doubt Bob Marley had that intangible factor that few artists ever have. Like other music luminaries Jimi Hendrix and Tupac Shakur, who also died young, Marley’s words and music seemed to cross boundaries and reach people right where they were at. In honor of the undisputed king of reggae music, today we’re making Flaming Bob Marley Shots. April 20th is right around the corner, so perhaps you should be downing this Bob Marley drink at 4:20pm. A huge spliff in the other hand is optional.
What’s mean and green and packs a powerful punch? You might be inclined to say The Hulk, the superhuman character from Marvel Comics. The answer that we’re looking for is the Incredible Hulk, a cocktail as strong as its namesake. Allegedly, this drink also goes by the name of the Green Eyed Monster, although I’ve yet to see anyone call it that myself.
Today we’re highlighting a drink named after one of the James Bond girls, the Christmas Jones. This Christmas cocktail is visually stunning, featuring vivid tones of red and green. In our own sample group, it was universally lauded as a drink that everyone could enjoy, anytime of the year. Fresh strawberries, pineapple juice, and mint give this cocktail an aura of anticipation.

One scorching Friday night this June, my best friend and I were sitting on my front porch having our normal discussion of our crappy week. I had managed to get lost going to see the dentist that day, and I was in tears. My dentist had to walk over to the next parking lot and jump in my truck to rescue me from being lost. (What dentist does that? Thank you!) Back to the front porch: I had come up with a brilliant plan out of the clear blue sky, to head to Sutter Creek, in Amador County, the following day. I said it would be an adventure; we could go get lost together since the women in my family are so directionally dysfunctional. Did I mention my best friend is also my cousin? We planned on browsing the shops in this sleepy gold country town, and hitting some of the wine tasting stops.
